ABOUT THE PLACE : Capalaba in Brisbane which was once a staging post on the horse drawn carriage run from Ipswich to Cleveland is now of great interest to the environmentalists after the introduction of the Redlands Indigiscapes Centre in 1997 which again is Australia's first native botanical garden. The name Capalaba is probably from the Yugarabul language meaning “ring tailed”. Also, Capalaba is a core centre in the Redland Shire, which flanks Moreton Bay to the south of Brisbane.
