If cycling is your passion then you need not look further than the Point Halloran Conservation Reserve, Brisbane. This koala eco tourism sanctuary was established in the year 1994 though it was officially opened in 1995 by Con Sciacca who was the Minister for Veteran's Affairs and the Federal Member for Bowman.

In the Point Halloran Conservation Reserve, Brisbane you can get to see the koala bears in their natural surroundings. You can not only cycle but also walk through the forested areas of this reserve and take in the bounties and the beauties of nature.

Along with this attraction there are also the interpretative centre and a number of tracks that will make both walking and cycling a pleasurable experience. You can cycle all around the Point Halloran Conservation Reserve and you will get fascinating glimpses of the Moreton Bay. The entire area is very cycle friendly and the route is worth giving a try.

The walking track is not only good for those who are walking on foot but is also okay for those traveling by the wheel chairs. Even prams can be conveniently used. There are car parks also that add on to the convenience.

Location: The Point Halloran Conservation Reserve is a little distance from Orana Saint at Victoria Point near Brisbane.

Koalas and the Point Halloran Conservation Reserve, Brisbane

This conservation reserve has a large number of koala bears. In the 1993 census it was found out that there were about two koalas in one hectare of land. But this had to be a suitable habitat. In total there were about 70 koalas in all.

There was a census that was recently held and approximately one koala was found in one hectare of land. The Point Halloran Conservation Reserve is all the more suitable for the koalas due to the presence of a number of factors. The reserve has large numbers of eucalyptus and the melaleuca trees. Because the area is filled with red gum trees such as these the area can support these creatures in a better manner. To know more about the koalas the interpretative centers will provide you with all the information that you need.
