ABOUT MANLY HARBOR, BRISBANE:

Brisbane's Manly Harbor was built quite recently, in1958. Home to the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron, Manly Harbor houses over 1,500 craft including home cruisers and fishing boats. Here you'll find the only bayside village in Brisbane, Manly Harbor Village. The largest man-made marina on Australia's east coast lies off the village area. Manly Harbor Village is the nearest point from Brisbane Central District to reach Moreton bay. Choc a bloc with quaint eateries, an art gallery, craft houses, the Manly Harbor area overlooking Moreton Bay is the place for some wonderful onshore and off shore fun!

LOCATION:

The Harbor is in Manly, a less than half an hour drive from Central Business District, Brisbane.
If you get here by train, get down at Manly train station. And if you are travelling by bus, take bus 222.

THINGS TO SEE AND DO AT MANLY HARBOR:

You'll be spoilt for choice regarding things to do at the beautiful Manly Harbor in Brisbane. Here are some pointers for you:

- You can walk or bike along the 5 km of esplanade boardwalk bordering the waterfront that's part of Moreton Bay Tourist Drive. Besides a footpath and cycling track, the foreshore parklands have playing equipment and a wading pool too.

- Enjoy the picnic n barbeque facilities on the foreshore parklands.

- Go bird-watching in the internationally reputed wetlands of Manly, like Boondall Wetlands and spot over 43 species of wading birds, including the Eastern Curlew.

- Have a thrilling ride on Australia's famous offshore racing yacht Solo and explore Moreton Bay! Other racing and yachting facilities are available too.

- Visit St Helena Island. Queensland's first convict settlement, this historic island now houses a National Park where can observe some 100 different species of sea birds. Day and night cruises for the island are available from William Gunn Jetty, Manly Harbor regularly.
