We are now in the age of communication. The communication should be fast and reliable at the same time. This becomes more necessary when you live in a crowded city with a sprawling business district. Located in Australia, Brisbane is the capital of the state of Queensland. People come to this city from the suburbs during the day and leave after the day is over. Apart from that, the tourists come to this city in numbers for a pleasure visit. It puts huge pressure on the city's transportation system. Notwithstanding that, the Brisbane sub urban train service functions efficiently to ensure both fast and reliable communication system is properly maintained.
To cope up with the huge population pressure, there is an extensive network of train system that not only covers the city limits but also ventures into the suburbs. The locals call the rail system by CityTrain. The trains cover an extensive area around metropolitan Brisbane and even heads for the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast which are outside the city limits. The rail network is owned by the government.
The CityTrain operates 10 suburban lines. Each of these different routes is distinguished by a unique color. The Caboolture Line, for example, is green and running along this railway track, trains journey between the Central and Caboolture stations. The red colored Ferny Grove Line runs between the Central and the Ferny Grove stations. The domestic terminal of the Brisbane Airport is linked to the Central station via the Airport Line. Yellow is the color of the track and is mostly frequented by the domestic passengers. Other lines such as: the Shorncliffe line, the Doomben line, the Exhibition Line, the Ipswich Line are also painted with unique colors.
The Central Station is the heart of the CityTrain service network. Unlike other rail systems, the trains run by this network do not terminate at the Central Business District of Brisbane. Rather CityTrains journey to other destinations cutting across the business district. So if you are a traveler, wishing to visit the business district; do not think twice to get on any train; for all the trains run by any network pass through the business district.
CityTrain services come under the broad gamut of TransLink public transport scheme. The fully electrified CityTrain network covers 143 stations and extends to the famous Gold Coast which is beyond the Brisbane city limits and its immediate vicinity. Managed by a dedicated staff of 1200 employees, CityTrain service is a great help to the passengers.| Hotels in Brisbane | |
