A lot of transportation media options are a great help to the passengers, who can decide which service is best for them. Linked by air, water, road and railroad, Brisbane offers a lot of choices to both locals and passengers. However too many communication mediums also has a con side to it. The passengers have to buy separate tickets for availing different transportation services. This takes a lot of time and energy. The problem becomes especially annoying if you are new to the city. You have to then keep searching for different ticket counters to ride different public transport vehicles. I am sure that you often wished to travel on any transport medium buying only one single ticket. On coming to Brisbane, Australia you would find that Brisbane TransLink system has indeed made your dream come true but only so long as your budget would allow you to stay.
TransLink has completely transformed the way people view a public transport system. It is the cutting edge solution which makes riding any type of public transport vehicle possible by buying a single ticket. The system came in effect from 1 st July, 2004. However the passengers can only ride those vehicles that have accepted the Brisbane TransLink system. Some of the participating companies are: Brisbane Bus Lines, Brisbane Transport, Kangaroo Bus Lines, Queensland Rail
The system operates within the south-east Queensland perimeter-starting from Noosa to Coolangatta and to Helidon in the west. Citytrain is a participatory network under the TransLink transport scheme. One integrated TransLink ticket will let you ride any train. You can buy the TransLink ticket from any of the Citytrain stations.
You can buy Single, Daily, Off-peak daily and other different types of TransLink tickets. Each of these ticketing types offers you different facilities. The Single ticket, for example, facilitates one way travel with unlimited transfers. Daily, on the other hand, facilitates both way travel but as is evident from the name within the date of purchase of the ticket.
You can buy a TransLink ticket in the same way as you buy an ordinary ticket. Just tell your destination to the ticket counter staff and they will calculate the fare.
You can also buy a ticket from a train station through the automatic ticketing machine. In this case you just have to enter the destination code and the machine will display the fare you have to pay.| Hotels in Brisbane | |
