The Spit is a wonderful attraction by itself. This narrow peninsula is bordered by the Broadwater Lagoon to the west and on the east lies the Pacific Ocean.
The two best hotels of the Gold Coast are found facing each other on the Sea World Drive here at Southport Spit Beach. There is also the Marina Mirage leading to the most elegant of shopping areas in the vicinity.
This further leads up to Australia's biggest marine theme park that is the Sea World. The Seaworld theme park is magnificent and it has numerous attractions like the dolphins and the polar bears. There is also a superb water park replete with exciting rides and water ski shows.
