ABOUT TWEED RIVER VALLEY, BRISBANE
Tweed River Valley, Brisbane is formed by the Tweed River on the north coast of New South Wales, Australia. The river was named after Britain's River Tweed. The crater of the extinct Mount Warning shield volcano lies in the area drained by Brisbane's Tweed River. At Murwillambah the branches of the Tweed River meet and flow down to the sea at Point Danger, Tweed Heads. A subtropical region with some existing rainforests, the Tweed River Valley has many protected natural parks and reserves. The Tweed is the last river you'll encounter on the Pacific Highway on a drive to the Gold Coast.
The twin towns of Tweed Heads ( New South Wales) and Coolangattta ( Queensland) share a common street along the state border and their beautiful beaches have made them a popular family destination.
