Koala Sanctuary (established in 1927) is the first and the largest koala sanctuary
in the world. Home to around 130 koalas and 80 other species of animals this
sanctuary also supports various research and conservation programs.
Boondall Wetlands Reserve, Brisbane
An amalgamation of melaleuca wetlands, salt marshes, tidal flats, grasslands,
mangroves, and woodlands, The Boondal Wetlands Reserves is a store house of
diverse flora and fauna. Situated at the edge of Morton Bay between Boondall,
Nudgee Beach and Shorncliffe, and extending over 1000 hectares of land this
wetland is listed under the Ramsar convention for its international importance.

Lamington National Park, Brisbane
Part of the Central Eastern Rainforest Reserves of Australia (CERRA) World Heritage
Area, Lamington National Park covers 20,590 hectares of sub tropical rainforests
and is of enormous ecological importance. The park lies 110 kilometers from
Brisbane, a two hours drive and one will experience the outstanding beauty of
the area.
