The Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary in Brisbane ranks amongst the world's largest and the first of all the koala sanctuaries. It is the home to about 130 koalas and for those who visit the place, the experience is unforgettable. You can feed the kangaroos and cuddle them as and when you like. You can also enjoy a huge variety of the native Australian wildlife amongst the beautiful natural settings.

Location: it is just about 50 minutes distance from the Gold Coast.

Attractions: you can see the huge varieties of animals like snakes, porcupines, koalas, echidnas, Rainbow Lorikeet, dingo, kangaroo and lots more.

How to reach: it is very convenient to reach Lone Pine. There is the Mirimar boat cruise that departs from the Cultural Centre Pontoon at 10 am everyday.

Besides the boat there are the bus and the taxi services as well. Buses run on a daily basis and the Brisbane City Council operates it. These are quite affordable and they drop you right inside the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary.

The programs

The programs have been well designed keeping in mind the requirements of all age groups. There are different programs for children in the age group of 1 to 7, kindergarten to 3 years, 3 to 7 years, and 4 to 7 years. These programs help to acquaint students with the natural habitat of animals along with the Australian flora and fauna.
