The park came into being in the year 1987 and its unique of its kind in the entire Cairns. Years back some of the Australians staged a native drama here using aboriginal techniques and traditions. Since then the place came to be known as Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park . The main objective of the park is to exhibit the forty thousand years old aboriginal culture through music and dance. The experience here is both entertaining and educative. Located in an area of about twenty five acres the park houses the best theater and technology in it. There are actually aborigine people who teaches authentic culture and custom. The term Tjapukai means people of the rainforest and that’s why the park displays there culture.
