Flecker Botanic Garden Cairns

The park was created in 1886 and a huge collection of plants that are originally from the site. The park has another wilderness park near it which is called the Centenary lakes. Enjoy walking through the serpentine path that moves along the rainforest and the
mangroves. The Centenary lakes have a salty water lake and a fresh water lake. Enjoy the fresh water lake surrounded by the green grass.
The Mount Whitfield Conservation Park located just behind the botanical garden the place offers you an exquisite sight of the nature. The park includes some 300 hectares of forested mountainous ranges that houses two walking tracks. Also see the Tanks Arts Center that is quiet poplar among the tourists.
The garden has an information centers where you can find a map and information leaflets. After you see the garden just enjoy a drink at the restaurant that opens at 9:30 and closes at 4:30pm.
Entrance
No visitor requires paying anything as admission is free. But if you are willing to contribute, then there is a box to make donations.
What to see
The diversified plants of the land include some of the exotic plants which perhaps are found nowhere. These include the species of palms, gingers and aroids. The tropical flower Amorphousphallus Titanium can be found here. The flower weighs 70 kilograms with a single leaf stretching 7 meters across.
Warnings
Visitors are advised to use insect repellant before they visit the garden.
Timings
The garden is open from 7: 30 am to 5: 30 pm.
