The Crystal Cascade of Cairns is a short scenic walk all along the rainforest past some rock pools and rapids. It has a lovely fresh water swimming hole veiled by the tropical forests. A series of waterfalls make their way to the large pools that is surrounded by boulders on all its sides. As the trees droop their branches on the waters of pool it adds a unique beauty to the entire landscape. The water is cool and refreshing. Tough the place is difficult to find it is gradually becoming a popular destination. Tourists visit the palace in great numbers during the summers. Any new comer is advised to follow the sign boards that ultimately lead you to the place. Have a bath at the freshwater lakes which is a great relief in a summer afternoon. The path that leads you to the cascades is a scenic track offering you the best scenic views. The Dowah Creek located at the southern end of Crystal Cascades car park leads you a small pool and a waterfall. The path leading to Lake Morris is a perilous track that many people love to hike. The best way to reach the place would be drive along the Redlynch from where the Crystal Cascade is 10 kilometers. From Cairns CBD the total distance is 20 kilometers. Hire a taxi or drive your own car. The place has no mobile phone reception. As such it is better to decide everything beforehand.
