To the east of the city lie The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, Coral Bays and the Tropical Islands, to the west lies the Rainforest creeping up the mountains, to the north lies the Wet Tropics rainforest and the World Heritage National parks and to the south Rugged Ranges interspersed with waterfalls and lakes lie in close submission!
