Josephine Falls Cairns

The beautiful Josephine waterfalls which has its origin at the Mt. Bartle Frere is a paradise fir any nature lover. The place has a 800 meter walking track all through the tropical rainforest. Below the falls there are a number of swimming holes naturally created for tourists to swim.
The rugged mountains, the lush green forests, and the gushing waterfalls- all these lend a typical scenic beauty to the entire landscape. Relax on the sandy beaches or explore the rainforest that abounds with innumerable birds.

Getting there
The place is 75 kilometers from Cairns. You can take the Bruce highway that would finally help you to the falls.
If you are somewhere at the western side of the Josephine Falls, then move along the Gourka Road and then move 15 kilometers south- east of Malanda through the Topaz Road.

Best time to visit

The dry season is considered the best time to visit the place. As rains in this part are heavy and prolonged it is good to avoid the wet season. As such most of the tourists visit the place during from May to October.
