Its advisable to book a taxi beforehand if one is planning to reach the airport on time. Plenty of taxis ply across the city roads. The Black and White Taxi is the only cab company of Cairns and thus is always on a high demand. All the major attractions of the city can be visited by hiring a taxi. Its better if you book a taxi through the hotel where you are residing. They are much more safe and efficient than the flying cabs. Fares are not that exorbitant. Its quite affordable. But if one is planning to hire it for an entire day then its better to settle a fare from before hand than going for the metered option.
