The Canberra Museum and Gallery is located in the City Center in the Australian Capital Territory. The gallery was opened in 1998 while the museum was open for the general public from 2001. The museum hosts a permanent display called - reflecting Canberra - that traces the social history of the region. There is also a resource center that contains plenty of books, periodical, videos and other materials on the social history and cultural heritage of Canberra. Though you can't borrow any of the materials, you can read in the study room or photocopy the required things. No entry charge is applicable.

Timings:
- From September to May the museum's time schedule is as follows:
10.00am to 5.00pm from Tuesday to Friday
12.00pm to 5.00pm on weekends

- From June to August the museum's time schedule is as follows:
10.00am to 5.00pm from Tuesday to Friday
12.00pm to 4pm on the weekends

The Canberra Museum and Gallery is closed on all Mondays.

Approaching events: The approaching events include exhibitions by Recovery, Majura Women's Group and another that will include paintings by George Foxhill. There are also many school programs and exhibitions that are supposed to be held throughout the year.
