Part of NASA's Deep Space Network, Australia's 40 year-old Canberra Space Center is a great place to learn more about what makes our galaxy tick, and about the latest space exploration missions.

Timings

Open 9 am to 5 pm everyday. Closed only on Christmas Day Dec 25.

Canberra Space Center is in the Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex, 35 km outside Canberra and is accessible by bus and car.

At the Canberra Space Center you get to:

- Enjoy snacks or meals at the Center's Moon Rock Café, open from 10 am-5 pm daily.

- Buy gifts at the Center's Gift Shop, also open from everyday from 10 am-5pm.

- Parking is free!

- On August 14, as part of the Australian Science Festival, the antenna complex in the Tidbinbilla Valley is thrown open for the public. This is the largest antenna complex in the southern hemisphere and to view it, you can go on a guided bus tour from the Center itself! It's FREE!
