Questacon - The National Science and Technology Centre, Canberra is famous for the 200 interactive exhibits that are related to both technology and science. The Questacon building was given as a gift by Japan to Australia in 1988. It was opened on the 23rd of November 1988 as a portion of Australian Government Department of Education, Science and Training (DEST) Attractions
The Questacon has got seven galleries on seven different floors and each of them can be reached by a spiraled pathway. The main attractions are - - The Sideshow- this is the most popular one with an insight into the science of a circus. The main exhibits are the Track Attack, Free Fall, a simulated roller-coaster, and a massive slide that has a drop of six meters. - MiniQ is an exhibition designed for children up to the age of six and it has an area of quiet, a sensory space and also a water play area. - Wavelength- this exhibition has various features on Fresnel lenses, Polarised light and holograms. - Awesome Earth- this gives all the information about geology and the numerous natural disasters that occur. It has an earthquake simulator and also a Tesla coil.
