This memorial garden was built as a reciprocal gesture by the Australian Government, in order to commemorate the selfless sacrifice of Turkish and ANZAC soldiers in the First World War. Named after Turkey's First president, this memorial holds a special place in the ANZAC Parade. Designed by the great Turkish sculptor Huseyin Gazer and surrounded by immaculate gardens, this memorial lies in the suburbs of Canberra, towards the eastern side of Anzac Parade.

Design and architectural detail of the Ataturk Memorial garden:

- The Ataturk Memorial garden comprises of a crescent shaped wall, symbolizing the moon and five pointed stars of the Turkish Flag.
- This memorial is constructed from polished granite, aggregate concrete, stone sets and copper alloy and is placed on the circular mosaic which is made up of small granite squares.
- At the center is a time capsule, consisting of soil from the Gallipoli battlefield.
- Towards the south of the memorial are two flagpoles with the Australian and Turkish flags.
- The wall also has the bust of Kemal Ataturk in bronze (a gift from the Turkish government).

Do make it a point to visit this place an bask in the glory of World War I, dropping a tear or two for the ones who sacrificed their lives in the process.
