The Woolley Street in the region has the maximum counts of the Asian landmarks reinforcing the fact of being called as Chinatown.
The Chinatown presently is fast developing as an International spot for tourism for its multi cultural presence. This region has many offices which include Telstra's regional headquarters, The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), TransACT (a local telecommunications company) the ACT Motor Registry and the ACT Planning and Land Authority. Other than these the area is also home to numerous as banks, optometrists, cafés and restaurants, retail shops such as newsagents, greengrocers and butcheries.
The food in the region makes it feel more in China. The numerous Chinese, Thai and Korean restaurants within the walk of 10-15 mins down the street makes it more of an Asian region than an Australian one.
