The Canberra Deep Space Communication, better known as CDSC and it s a very important destination in Canberra. The complex is a section of the Deep Space Network and is maintained by NASA's JPL. The complex is referred to by the name of Tidbibilla Deep Space Tracking station and has been in operation since 19th March1965.

Details of the Complex: The complex is maintained by CSRO which actually manages all the activities of the NASA in Australia and only recently Raytheon has started managing all the activities of CDSCC. The complex is actually one of the branches found in the world. The CDSCC closed down in 1981 and was renamed as Deep Station 46.The CDSCC uses Parkes radio telescope when Data Material is required.

Location: The complex is located in Australia at Tidbinbilla in a valley of the Murrumbidgee River which is just a half an hour route from Canberra and can be reached from any part of the suburbs. A notable place situated near by is the Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve. The complex is located on the grounds of the space center.

Activities: The tourists visiting can learn about the significance of Space in the Australia. Tourists can visit the large antenna complex in the southern part where people can view various images of the Moon, Mars and space craft models. Interesting information about the space travelers are also given here. One can take a trip to the Solar System and unwind in the Moon Rock Café. Kids can also play in the playgrounds.
