The Black Mountain Nature Park, Canberra is the largest of all the 27 Nature Parks in Canberra. It is a city landmark and it has all the facilities for all interest groups. Be it bushwalking, or driving, or even cycling there is a small section of the park known as the Aranda Bush lands that is best suited for all these types of activities. The Black Mountain Nature Park is very close to the central business district of Canberra. This hill like the other major hills is protected by the Canberra Nature Park and it is entirely covered by bush land and it is considered to be a haven for the native wild life. The park area had been cleared previously for the purpose of grazing but now the place has re grown with the native bush land. There have been several programs to rehabilitate and re vegetate the region. The Black Mountain is a forested region that runs for about 4.52 km. This national park is enclosed by house or wire fences. There are ample places for people to go for walking and cycling but all motor bikes are barred from entering the place.
