The Jerrabomberra Wetland, Canberra is located in the heart of Canberra right on the shores of the Lake Burley Griffin. This is an important habitat for the native wildlife and also the 77 species of the migrating water birds. The Jerrabomberra Wetlands is an artificially made area. The northern boundary of the wetlands is formed by the Molonglo River, the Lake Burley Griffin lies in the west, the Fyshwick Sewerage Treatment Works and Dairy Road form the east boundary and the Jerrabomberra Creek on the south boundary. The wetlands provide an ideal habitat for different sets of animals and birds. The abundance and the diversity is fascinating. There are some species of birds that roost in one part and feed in the other. Without the presence of the two conditions the particular bird would have become extinct. There are the Fyshwick Sewage Treatment Ponds that are adjunct to the wetland system. This also acts as a refuge and feeding area for a huge variety of birds. Contact
