Welcome to the 500 metres long expanse of golden sandy beach -Casuarina Beach, one of Darwin's best beaches, which was designated as a legal clothes optional area back in 1976, mainly due to lobbying by the members of the now defunct Darwin Sun Club.

What sets the Casuarina Beach, Darwin, apart from the other clothes optional beaches in Australia, both legal and unofficial is that it is a league ahead o its other counterparts across the country when it comes to basic facilities such as toilets, car parks and so on. Casuarina Beach, Darwin being a major tourist spot in Darwin is well equipped with various facilities for the convenience of those who come to this popular beach.

The Northern Territory Conservation Commission is in charge of providing most of these facilities, including outdoor showers to rinse off the sand and salt water.

With every passing year the coastal paradise of Casuarina Beach, Darwin has gained more and more popularity with naturist families. The common sights along the Casuarina Beach, Darwin is children spending their time building sand castles, with sand shovels and buckets of water, often decorating it with seashells, whilst the more energetic adults take long walks in the nude, or join in a fun game of cricket or volleyball.

Swimming is not allowed in the dry winter season, May to October because of the box jellyfish. In any case, it is advisable to carry vinegar with you on the beach to sooth the pain, if stung by it.
