The plan for the Darwin Wharf Precinct was perceived in 1990. The occasion was the transformation of an old warehouse on Stokes Hill Wharf into a pleasant seafood restaurant. It was for a redevelopment plan of the administration of the Northern Territory Government that brought about the idea of a waterfront tourism and recreational area in the Darwin CBD. This enhanced the facilities for the visiting cruise ships, pleasure craft and naval vessels. The Darwin Wharf Precinct project was officially opened in May 1992 and thereafter it has expanded expansively through the years. The present day Darwin Wharf Precinct is the proud home to an award winning seafood restaurant, various eateries and other retail stores, a venue to an annual seafood festival, live entertainment zone and above all a wonderful sight seeing spot for the visitors.
The Darwin Wharf Precinct also has a vast facility for cruises and charters. Many tourists flock in to enjoy the beautiful ride on the sea from the Wharf. The guests can enjoy
- City of Darwin Cruises
