One of the most famous museums of Gold Coast in Australia is the Wax Museum. It is among the most frequently visited museums in Australia. It is located between Elkrorn and Ferney Avenue in the Surfers Paradise area.

The Wax Museum, Gold Coast is the largest museum of its kind in the southern hemisphere. This fantastic museum houses the statues and figurines of famous people coming form different walks of life. You can witness the life size wax statues of famous historians, movie stars, singers, explorers, and scientists. Besides these, one can also check out the models of mythical creatures and monsters, costumes belonging to ancient times and other magnificent artifacts.

The Wax Museum has two sections. The first section is called World in Wax. Here you can find the replica of your favorite heroes and celebs, like Kylie Minougue, John Howard, Croc Dundee, and other famous personalities, who have made a name for themselves in their respective fields. A trip to this section is both entertaining and educational. The dolls are dressed in costumes belonging to their time. Here you can also check out the jewels of the British Monarchy as well as figures of mythical characters like Dracula and Frankenstein.

The other section of the museum is the Chamber of Horrors. Here you can see articles and devices used to torture human beings in the medieval period. Some of the instruments that one can observe include the Rack, the Scottish Maiden, the flesh tearer, the breaking wheel, the strangling post and others.
