Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary in Gold Coast has won the hearts of the visitors from the day of its inauguration. For nearly 60 years this park has been rendering service to the public and has earned repute with millions of visitors. You can encounter more than 1,400 native Australian animals in their natural habitat and rainforest surroundings. The Sanctuary introduces the visitors to a world discovery through amazing wildlife shows and exhibits, as well as nightly Wildlife Adventure tours. This sanctuary is entirely a non-profit organization controlled by the National Trust of Queensland. The revenues are maneuvered for the betterment of the park in order to provide enjoyment to the visitors and for wildlife conservation, education and research. The Wildnight Adventure consists of aboriginal dance shows and Nocturnal Animal Discovery Tour. It is advisable to bring your camera, a small torch if you like, insect repellent, warm clothing in winter, and wet weather gear if it's rainy. Since the tour involves a lot of walking, wear comfortable shoes. With recent education programs research projects and their own Community Wildlife Hospital, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, Gold Coast is committed to wildlife preservation. Timings Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, Gold Coast is open from 8:00AM to 5:00PM every day except Christmas Day when the park is closed. On special days like Anzac Day, 25 April, the park is open from 1:00PM to 5.00PM. The park reopens for the Wildnight Adventure at 7:00PM each night. But you must book your ticket for the Wildnight Adventure before 3:00PM. Food and Beverages Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, Gold Coast has arrangements for the visitors' refreshments. You can get breakfast and snacks like burgers, chips here. The refreshment centers here are: - Cafe Sanctuary: Open from 8.00AM till 10.30AM for breakfast, followed by lunch, light meals and snacks throughout the day.
- Koala Junction: Offers burgers, fish and chips, chicken and chips or salad wraps. You can also get fresh fruit salad, ice cream and a cold drink.
- Devils Diner: Offers hot dogs, pies, sausage rolls and popcorn.
Besides all these a number of facilities are provided to the visitors like stroller and wheelchair hire, disabled access, first aid room, luggage storage facilities, personal storage lockers, free off-street parking, ATM and other services. So tread in this world of awe and amazement and have pleasure and enlightenment at the same time.
