Middleton Expo Hobart is a fun filled festival, and also one of the most unique
event of the city. Held every year in the month of February, this amazing event
is a fine example of a true country festival.
Middleton Expo in Hobart is held on the first Saturday of February every year.
Also known as the Middleton Country Fair, this lively festival is held in the
little town of Middleton, which is located on the D'entrecasteaux Channel to
the south of Hobart. Middleton is often referred to as the Scarecrow Country,
as one can get to see a large number of scarecrow's adorning the streets and
the fields of this little village.
Middle Expo attracts as many as 2000 visitors every year. The festival is held
for only one day and attending the same is the best way to spend a day with
your family. Visitors can check out the numerous stalls put over here like the
food stalls, plant stalls, handicraft stalls and game stalls. One can find more
than 80 stalls in this huge annual event. You can spend the day in the Middleton
Expo in Hobart looking at the different animals, birds and plants or checking
out the artifacts sold over here. Children can go for pony rides or watch the
puppet shows. There are separate game stalls also where you can play and win
exciting prizes. One can find a large number of musicians and singers performing
in this festival. One can also try out the traditional Tasmanian cuisine sold
in the numerous food stalls of the festival.
This country fair starts at the 10 a.m. in the morning at continues till 3
p.m. in the afternoon. All the funds raised at the fair are collected and used
for promoting the community projects of the channel area.
