The Hope and Anchor in Hobart was opened in 1807 and it is the oldest pub in Australia.
There were originally many others but most of them are no longer there and so
this is the oldest known pub of the land. This place is also noted for the restaurant,
functions centre, the museum and also the conference venue.

vast and the food is prepared with the best of the ingredients available locally.
Lip smacking dishes are served during the lunch and dinner times. There is also

Seafood chowder, the fish and the chips. Dinner consists of Scotch Fillet, Baked
Chicken Breast, Suffolk Shoulder, Oven Roasted Pork Fillet, Huon Valley Mushroom
Risotto, Prawn and Trevalla Bake. Grilled Porterhouse Steak, Crispy Chicken
Strips, Crumbed Fish, Gujons, Spicy Fried Calamari are the ones in the kids
menu.
The bars are also one of the most attractive features of the Hope and Anchor,
Hobart. These are the Public Bar, the Lounge Bar and the Museum Bar and these
serve various selections of wines that are enjoyed by all.
The Hope and Anchor, Hobart has well decorated rooms that come with or without
