Tasmania is the wild trout capital of Australia and is known through out the world for its clear waters, abundant catch, low angling pressures, and sight seeing opportunities which are associated with fishing. So it is natural that there would be an event related to fishing and Trout, and the event is Tasmanian Trout Expo which is supposed to be held in August 2007. The event is sponsored by Tasmanian Banking Services Bendigo Bank and is organized by Trout fishing businesses and services along with the Cressy Community. The event is spread over two places, the Cressy District High School and Brumbys Creek with a free shuttle bus running in both the places to help people from commuting from one place to the other. The event attracts a large cloud with numbers even going up to as big as twelve thousand. The fishing expo has something or the other for everyone as there are a host of activities that you can indulge in ranging from fishing books, fishing gears and fishing tackle. Other things which can attract you during the Trout Expo includes oat accessories, fishing clubs, fishing guides, travel and holiday ideas, fly tying, casting, rod building, environmental displays and information, camping and outdoor gear, clothing, kids activities, music, bug displays, art and a big fish arcade. All this plus some very tasty trout which you can taste post the cooking demonstrations, there is a fashion parade thrown in to accentuate the fun factor which is there in the festival. There are nearly seventeen prizes to be won among some five thousand ticket holders and there is big money up for grabs for the tagged wild trout which can make you richer by some 10, 000 dollars. The highlight of the expo though is the fishing condition at Brumbys Creek and all you need is a Tasmanian fishing license which you can easily attain at the event if you are over fourteen.
