Launceston is placed on 41° 25' south latitude and longitudinally lies
on 147° 07' east. The topography of Launceston comprises of a winding river
valley as the city is placed by the banks or the Tamar River. A range of mountains

for the climbers. Dotted with a number of pools which are nestled among the
scattered vegetation, the rugged landscape stands out as an exquisite locale
and a jewel in Launceston's geography.
The hilly topography of Launceston has a considerable influence on its weather
as the place is colder than the other cities of Tasmania.
