The Wattle Park, Melbourne located in the Burwood a suburb of the city, has been ideally named after the 12,000 wattle trees it houses. The Hawthorn Tramways Trust in 1015 to be developed and beautified into a park bought the land originally belonging to Mrs. Eliza Welch. Sir Arthur Stanley inaugurated the Wattle Park on 31st march 1917 with the plantation of a Golden Wattle.
