Previously known as the 'National Independent Electronic Labels Conference' the Sound Summit is a music festival that is now celebrated under the broad banner of 'This Is Not Art'. It is one of the festivals that focus on independent electronic music and hip-hop.
Started in the year 1998, This Is Not Art has gained popularity among the young enthusiasts fast and is now a premiere art and media festival in Newcastle in Australia. The festival is a highly modern and innovative attempt to promote and encourage some of the most creative but less privileged communities that hardly get a chance in the major festivals arranged in the country.
The one of its kind festival, also referred to as TINA comes to life with a chain of events once every year to provide better opportunities to a pool of talented, young artists in Australia. The festival showcases the work of numerous artists through exhibitions, workshops, panel discussions and a whole lot of other events thereby encouraging the budding artists.
