His Majesty's Theatre was inaugurated in 1904 during Christmas Eve. The architect of the theatre was William Wolfe and it was constructed by Gustav Liebe. The theatre still stands to be one of the best examples of Edwardian art. There was a massive cost that was incurred for building the adjoining hotel and the theatre - 42,000 pounds in two years during the 20th century gold boom.
