All Saints Anglican Church
All Saints Anglican Church represents one of a small number of remaining colonial buildings of the mid 19th Century representative of the Swan River colony establishment. One of the most picturesque of the various Perth tourist attractions it was built by Richard Edwards between 1838 and 1840 with the first service taking place on 10 January 1841.

The location of All Saints Anglican Church in Perth, Australia is as beautiful as the church itself. The church is located on a small hill overlooking the Swan River near the conjunction of Swan and Ellen Brook. This was also the camping site of Captain James Stirling in 1827 during his exploration of the area.

All Saints Anglican Church is no different than the oldest existing church buildings in Western Australia. Like them, this famous place for sightseeing in Perth also has a cemetery surrounding the church. This cemetery houses graves of many significant European settlers in the Swan Valley. The church also displays the technical innovation of the early settlers who had designed and built the church commemorating the contribution of these settlers.

All Saints Anglican Church is also an architectural marvel built in English design to suit local materials and building methods. It is constructed out of handmade local clay bricks and pit sawn timber. The original roof was built of she-oak shingles which was later replaced with corrugated iron in 1962 and little later again with asbestos shingles. Other bits of extension and construction works included a lych gate restored in 1979. In 1991 a wrought iron gate was erected as an entry gate to the boundary of the complex with the words 'All Saints' and 'Ellen Brooks' decoratively written on the gate.
