More About Penguin Island
Penguin Island, Australia is situated about 42 kilometers from the centre of Perth, just off the Rockingham coast. It forms a part of the Shoalwater Islands Marine Park, which has its own wondrous collection of aquatic life forms. At the Penguin Island, not only will you come close to the penguins and get to know more about their cute ways and manners, but you can also come to face-to-face with the delightfully friendly dolphins.
Herein at the Penguin Island, you can also get a glimpse of the majestic Australian Sea Lion and the seals stretching out languorously on the shores. You cannot actually step on to the Seal Island, located in these parts, but you can take the Penguin and Sea Lion Cruise or the Rockingham Sea Kayak for an enjoyable tryst with them.
There are bird sanctuaries in the Penguin Island and the chirpy residents herein include fairy terns, the Siberian bar tailed godwit, Artic Skua, Ospreys, ruddy turnstones and cormorants.
Sightseeing in Perth will be incomplete without a visit to the Penguin Island and without meeting up with some of the oldest residents of Australia.
