• The Seafood Festival – Harvest of the Coral Sea in Port Douglas is a joint initiative of the Port Douglas Commercial Fishing Industry and Marina Mirage Restaurants with invited restaurants participating in it
• It is held in late May on the last Sunday of the Carnivale weekend.
• Seafood stall are located across the boardwalk and visitors walk around and sample freshly cooked seafood of their choice.
• Displays are arranged so that visitors can know about fishing and the sea in general.
• You can even meet the fishermen.
• A band entertains the visitors from the back of a vessel moored in the Marina and fishing trawlers are displayed.
• The Port Douglas Commercial Fishing industry has donated thousands of dollars to local charities over the years of its involvement in this festival.
• This highlights the fishing industry theme ‘families catching fish for families'.
• There is no entry fee to the extravaganza. Visitors are welcome to visit the booths buying what catches their fancy or just to wander amongst the shops inside the complex.
