Anzac Park: There are interesting outdoor markets held every Sunday in Anzac Park.
Snapper Island Park: situated 27km north of Port Douglas and about 4km due east of the mouth of the Daintree River, the 56ha national park was declared in 1939 to protect the island’s natural, cultural and recreational values. It is a continental (high) island that once formed part of the mainland. Snapper Island rises 102m above sea level and supports several vegetation communities. Russell River National Park: it is a coastal park near Russell and Mulgrave River estuaries. It features lowland rainforest and paper bark, mangrove swamps, rocky headlands and sandy beaches.
The Chillagoe Mungana National Park: it is a small park west of Cairns
which preserves dry woodland vegetation and boasts a number of decorated caves
and some unique limestone outcrops. Daily guided tours of Donna, Royal Arch
and Trezkinn Caves are available.
