Traveling in and around Sydney is not at all a difficult matter as the city has an excellent public transport system. Transportation in Sydney is extremely efficient and one can avail of the public conveyance to move in and around the city.

Transportation in Sydney consists of buses, taxis, trams, ferries, trains and other modes of public conveyance. The mass transit system of the city is extremely efficient. You can avail any mode of communication to move from one area of the city to the other.

The city has an efficient bus service. The Sydney Bus Service has a wide network, which runs throughout the city. The city has a large number of bus terminals from where you can board a bus. Some of the major terminals are at Central Station, Town Hall, Wynyard and Circular Quay. In fact, one can find a bus stop after every four or five blacks. There are more that 300 bus routes in the city. The buses are extremely punctual and one can travel in them comfortably. Another way of traveling inside this city is by taxi. There are a large number of taxis plying in and around the city. You can take a taxi to nay place that you feel like. You can either catch a taxi while walking down the street or find one in the taxi stands located near the airport, hotels and stations. All the taxis have meters where the fare is displayed. However, the taxis have two types of rates, one meant for the daytime and the other meant for the nighttime.

Another very popular way of moving around the city of Sydney in Australia is by ferries or water taxis. The city has a good ferry service with boats traveling on the Parramatta River, to and from the Sydney Harbor. The water taxis and ferry services are operated by Sydney Ferries, a government organization. Traveling in ferries is also a major tourist attraction.

You can also avail the Metro Light Rail service. This is a relatively new mass transit system introduced by the city government. This is basically a tram service that runs throughout the city. Most of the trams run from Central station to China town, Darling Harbor, Sydney Fish market and other areas. You can also avail of the monorail facility. It circles the entire city and has a total of eight stops. The city has an excellent train service. CityRail has an excellent train service in and around the city, which will allow you to travel to different parts of the city in a leisurely manner.

The presence of numerous mass transit options makes transportation in Sydney easy and hassle free. You can avail any of the public conveyance to reach your destination.
