Koala Park Sanctuary is located in West Pennant Hills, which is about 30 minutes drive from Sydney central business district. It is spread over 10 acres of verdant rain forest and native gardens.

Koala Park Sanctuary, Sydney was Noel Burnet's (the founder of the Park) reaction to what he saw as a 'practice soaked in cruelty and greed'. Noel was appalled by the sharp dip in the number of koala bears due to their rampant killing for fur. Koala Park Sanctuary was founded in 1920s and was publicly opened in October 1930.

Noel Burnet's family is still the owner operator of Koala Park Sanctuary.

Noel Burnet's noble gesture has been sufficiently blessed and Koala Park Sanctuary is now teeming with koala bears that dwell in their natural habitat among the eucalyptus groves or in the rain forest and gardens of the sanctuary. Visitors can cuddle these koala bears and also learn about their habitat.

Some of the other animals that can be found in Koala Park Sanctuary are the peacocks, cockatoos, emus, kangaroos, wombats, echidnas, rainbow lorikeet, wedge-tailed eagles and dingos.

Apart from watching these animals, visitors can also visit Stockman's Camp in the park where daily shearing of sheep take place.

Koala Park Sanctuary opens at 9 am and closes at 5 pm. It is open on all days of the week.
