Bahai House of Worship Sydney

Australia - Adelaide - Brisbane - Alice Springs - Cairns - Canberra - Darwin - Gold Coast - Hobart - Melbourne - Newcastle - Perth - Port Douglas - Launceston - Sydney - Townsville
The Bahia house of worship or Bahai temple as it is popularly referred to, was built in Sydney, Australia in 1961 and was designed by the controversial and eminent American Bahai who had done a commendable service to the faith.
The temple has been built out of local hardwoods with a concrete dome placed on the top of it. The temple can accommodate nearly six hundred people and is mainly used as a meditation and prayer hall. The architecture is a reminiscence of Eastern and Western influences and even houses a visitor's center, a picnic area, a garden and a book shop. The temple was under severe threat from forest fires last year but call it divine intervention or sheer good luck that the temple remained unscathed from the fire.
Bahai as a faith is nearly a hundred years old and in those hundred years it has been able to make significant progress to become a popular religion.
In fact the religion made its presence felt in Australia just after a decade or so of its inception. As the days passed into years and years into centuries, the Bahai community has been able to embrace the diverse and complex structure of modern Australia. It is an inclusive faith which aims to take along with them, people from all backgrounds and believes in the oneness of God, religion and humanity.
The Bahai temple is located at 173 Mona Vale Road, Ingle side which is located on the Northern beaches of Sydney. The place is open to the general public on each and every day of the year.
Special services like group tours are also available which include a guided tour of the temple along with a video presentation and discussion. This may further add a pleasant walk along the well maintained gardens along with refreshments in the covered picnic area.
The temple and its surroundings also provide you an opportunity of tying your nuptial knot in the surroundings of the temple and can get blessed before or after the marriage in the temple thereafter.
The marriage is celebrated by a legally authorized marriage celebrant and you need to fulfill certain conditions to get married there.
The best part of the temple is the fact that you can visit it anyways because of its sheer beauty even though you don't want to get married.
