This estate is one of most culturally important places or properties in Australia and is the greatest reminiscences of the kind of history that the country has undergone. It is one of the best surviving archives of the lives of families of the Rouse and the Terries. The house is known for its outstanding collection of buildings, furnishings, artifacts and gardens. A guided tour of this house can go a long way in educating people about nearly two centuries of one family's occupation of a house. The house was established in the beginning of the nineteenth century roughly around 1813 and has been used by six generations of the same family. In fact the whole property of the house comprising of more than thirteen hectares of open space plus the summer house, stables, summerhouse, outbuildings and the Georgian house is perhaps gives a true picture of the history of Australia in a short span of time and leisure. This property was built by convict laborers with in a span of five years and provides you with just the right dose of nostalgia and provides an excellent backdrop for taking memorable photographs and conducting small workshops.
