St. James Church is one of the most popular churches present in the city of Sydney. It is very popular among the people in Australia for its services during festivals like Easter, Christmas Eve Midnight Mass etc. This is a beautiful structure and is considered as a man-made wonder. The St. James Church was designed by Francis Greenway and in the year 1824 this church was consecrated. This man was the architect of this church, however, he was also a convict as well.

St. James Church is located on King Street. It follows the Anglican style of worship and was infact the first Anglican Church to be established in the colony. Initially the church building was supposed to be made into a courthouse, however, later the design was altered and it was made into a beautiful church. The role of the church is very significant for the religious and social aspect of Sydney. The music section of St. James Church is highly popular. Round the year the church conducts recitals and concerts as well.

The railway station is named after the Church and is known as the St James Railway Station. The road on which the church is located is also commonly refereed to as the St. James King Street. This clearly implies the popularity of the Church among the people of Sydney.
