The historic Telstra Stadium is situated in the Sydney Olympic Park in the district of Homebush. This stadium was originally designed for hosting the 2000 Summer Olympics and was previously called Stadium Australia. The stadium was constructed with the aim of accommodating 110,000 people at a time that made the Telstra Stadium the largest stadium for hosting Olympic Games. But in the year 2003, reconfiguration was done squeeze it from the north and the south ends and put into some movable seats. The facilities of roofs were added to the north and south stands.

History
On March6, 1999, the first event of a Rugby League was organized featuring Newcastle v Manly and the Parramatta v St George IIIawarra Dragons. The stadium was officially opened on June 1999 when Australia played the FIFA All Stars. Australia also bagged the FIFA World Cup against Uruguay that was hosted by the Telstra Stadium. This stadium made a world record of the greatest number of crowds when the Bledisloe Cup Rugby Union match between the Australian Wallabies and the New Zealand All Blacks were held.
During the 2000 Summer Olympics, the greatest attendance was recorded on the closing ceremony.


There is a stadium club situated and the other places to view are the eastern exterior, the private dining room for 20 people, the western grass stand and the Olympians dining room.


The Telstra Stadium is again going to be at its best in the year 2007. There are a number of interesting events going to be held this year. Some of them are:

- Two Wallabies Test matches in the World Cup build up that is one of the best events that is going to take place.
- The NRL season launch Charity Shield

- 26 NRL home matches for the Bulldogs, Rabbitohs and the Wests Tigers
