Experiencing Harbord Beach Harbord Beach is one of the excellent Northern Beaches of Sydney that is situated between the Curl Curl and the Queencliff beaches. The beach is generally called the Freshwater Beach and is mainly frequented by families. Previously the beach area was inhabited by the Kuring-gai people that can be identified from the rock carvings and the shelters. This area was previously known as Freshwater Estate, the name was then changed do Harbord Beach. The Hawaiian Expert Duke Kahanamoku was the first to demonstrate board surfing to the viewers in the year 1915. at the northern side of the beach, the rock pool is located. The beach is generally patrolled by the lifesavers and beach instructors especially in the months of September and April. The inspectors are also present from December to February from 9am till 6pm. On the other hand, volunteer life guards are available in the summer season on the weekends only.
