City to Surf Race is one of the most popular 'funs run' in the world. It is held once in a year in Sydney. People from all strata of the society take part in this road running event. The first race was conducted in the year 1971. City to Surf Race attracts more than 50,000 participants every year. There are different categories of people who take part in this race. There are the serious runners, the mid level runners and even the runners who take part in the event only to enjoy the ambience and the lively atmosphere. People wait for the whole year to take part in this event. The run is mostly led by the super elite section of the society. Behind the elite runners are the ordinary runners. The race begins at Hyde Park and ends at Bondi Beach. Hyde Park is located near the Australian Museum. The Australian Museum Society arranges for champagne and breakfast for the runners and the participants of this event. All participants are dressed in colorful, interesting and casual clothes .In this race you can see people dressed in different types of dresses like gorilla suits, coke cans, runaway brides, giant grains of rice etc. The participants of this race are usually in festive mood. The City to Surf Race crosses some beautiful landscapes of Australia. Those landscapes are so beautiful that people will cherish those landscapes forever. The grand fun race comes to an end at Bondi Beach. At Bondi Beach a massive party is held for the runners to chill and relax. Steve Moneghetti made a course record in the year 2006. Apart from Sydney, the City to Surf Race is also celebrated in Perth. The first Perth event was organized in the year 1975.It is held once in every year. The race is organized by the Active Foundation every year.
