Considered as one of the greatest parks of Australia, the Luna Park is located in Milsons Point, Sydney, Australia. The park is situated on the northern shore of the Sydney Harbor. The slogan of this park is “Just for Fun”. Entertainments
This awesome amusement park was opened on 4th October 1935. Previously the name of this park was Luna Park Milsons Point, Astroland. It is a historical park and for these long years, the park has experienced a number of closures and changes of the park owner. There also were legal battles and certain actions which were sometimes in favor of the parka and sometimes against it. In the beginning years, the park was closed during the winter season and this process continued till 1972. Every year new rides and entertaining materials ere included in the park to draw huge visitors. But unfortunately on 9th June 1979, the Ghost Train Tragedy occurred. This train suddenly caught fire and few people were killed, hence after his the park was shut down. After few years the park faced a several openings and closure through many years. The park was then reconstructed and developed in recent years and some of the rides were removed and some were redesigned in the modern way. It reopened on 4th April 2004. The Big Top was built that had an accommodation of 2000 seats. The Crystal Palace was also redesigned and many rooms for function were built. The smiling face located at the entrance of Luna Park is 9 meter wide. The mid way that runs from the entrance face till the Coney Island, comprises of many entertainments and activities and the main rides of the Luna Park can be reached passing the mid way.
The Coney Island is the oldest example of a funhouse built in the 1930’s and consists of barrels that are rotating, big slides, moving platforms and arcade games. Some of the breathtaking rides of this park are: - Rotor
