The Manly Art Gallery and Museum had been established with an intention to preserve the history of Manly which remains one of the most visited beaches of Australia. The art gallery opened in 1930 houses a good collection of beach gears, photographs and paintings that speak of Manly and of the northern beaches. Another museum had been included to the main gallery in 1982 to trace the history of Manly and its evolving beach culture.
