The Sydney Harbor Bridge Pylon Lookout is one of the most fascinating and most frequently visited destinations of Sydney. Placed 87 meters above the sea level, the Lookout is enough to transport one to a distant past and relive the construction and opening of the historic Sydney Harbor Bridge. The Lookout offers a breathtaking view of the azure waters, the towering Sydney Harbor Bridge and the distant city skyline. The Sydney Harbor Bridge Pylon Lookout is a tiring 200 stairs climb, but the view waiting on top is indeed a reward for the effort. The building houses three floors of exhibits that narrate the history of the Bridge, how JJC Bradfield and his co-workers accomplished the mammoth task of spanning the bay and how life had been before the existence of the bridge. There are documents and pictures to capture moments like the first day of the Bridge when Captain Francis De Groot charged forward to inaugurate it. There are several souvenirs, medals and memorabilia from the Bradfield Museum, and audio visual presentations are also screened to narrate the early days of the Sydney Harbor and the Bridge. The Lookout has a glass view finder that can be swung on all angles to show the entire circumference of Sydney. One can even catch a glimpse of the faraway Olympic Stadium in the Homebush Bay or the Blue Mountains through the powerful lens. The Sydney Harbor Bridge Pylon Lookout has alternative indoor arrangements that do not deprive visitors of the view even when the weather is extreme. The Sydney Harbor Bridge Pylon Lookout remains open to the public everyday from 10am to 5pm.
