Introduction- The word Consul refers to the official representatives of a state, working outside its territory, and taking care of its interests especially, those of its subjects, individuals as well as enterprises. The office of a Consul is termed a Consulate, and is generally subordinate to the state's main representation in that foreign country, nowadays usually an Embassy or High Commission, or in the capital even a section within the diplomatic post.
